my crowded mind series
This series explores the tension between how others see me and how I often feel. Each piece captures the ongoing flow of emotions, from confidence to uncertainty, with painting offering both an outlet and a chance to be vulnerable.
Sunglasses series
This series of over 30 paintings began as a response to significant life changes during the pandemic. Inspired by the resilience of women, sunglasses are used as a symbol of strength and empowerment in the portraits. Through the creative process, the series evolved to explore new art mediums and themes of personal growth.
Smile Series
Inspired by makeup and painting and their interconnected nature, this series began as an exploration of painting on skin and its translation onto a canvas. Initially I was drawn in by the rich textures of paint, the project evolved into a social commentary, exploring the metaphorical act of painting a smile on one's face.
face painting study
Working as a makeup artist for film kept me interested in exploring the textures that arise when paint imitates makeup, I was lead to explore makeup trends throughout the decades. The fusion of fine art and makeup has been a consistent source of inspiration for me, and I became interested in investigating how various art mediums can offer different textures and how those textures can be imitated onto a canvas. This exploration of texture led me to learn the punch needle.
